Joel Curtis Dudley


Joel was in the following Census:
     1880 Census, TX, Collin County, Justices Precinct No. 4, family 71, page 1855/56, Joel was shown with his wife Lilly and was 24 years old.
     1910 Census, AR, Little River, Franklin Township, Supr. Dist # 2, Enum Dist 34, with his son Walter.  Joel was 54 and widowed.

Joel was born in GA as were his parents, according to the 1880 and 1910 Census.  In the 1880 Census of Indian Territory, OK, Joel was 24 and living with his wife Lillie A., children Benjamin F. and John R., and brother-in-law William Eden.  In the 1910 Census of Little River Co. AR, Joel was living with son Walter and his family and was listed as as widower.

From Lola Fender:  The only thing she found out about Joel Dudley on her trips researching at Madill and Tishamingo was that he was buried in the old Madill cemetery.  "Joel was blind and Walter and the other children led him around when they were kids."

Joel was 59 years of age when he married Matilda Wheat and they both lived at Millwood, AR.

Joel was buried at the Old Madill Cemetery South of town,  with no marker, according to Lola Fender.
